This note describes the use of influence diagrams for structuring relationships in a decision model. Two primary uses are considered: (1) the structuring of deterministic relations among variables (including decision variables, intermediate variables, and outcome attributes) in a spreadsheet and (2) the structuring of conditional probability in decision making under uncertainty. Many graphic examples are provided.
