Product Details
Microsign is a small manufacturing unit located in Gujarat founded by Nisheeth Mehta. Despite the fact that persons with disability (PWD) constitute half of the workforce, the dedication of the top management team and the unique value system has steered the organisation towards success. Microsign has developed a unique work culture where both physically able and disabled persons are treated equally and fairly. As the firm grows, different challenges are cropping up regarding the HR policies and practices. The case discusses some emerging HR issues like diversity management/reasonable accommodation, importance of formal HR policies and human resource management in a growing organisation.
The case gives us insight into various issues of diversity management, including managing a physically challenged workforce, reasonable accommodation, integrating them with normal workers and the role of HR management practices in managing such a workforce.
