A Weekend Guide to Self-Assessment and Career Development
PACS-0086 | Published November 24, 1997 | 23 Pages Technical Note
Collection: Darden School of Business
Product Details
This note presents a short, two-day version of the self-assessment process used in one of Darden's second-year electives, "Career Management." Students are guided through a 14-step process that they can complete on their own in two to four days. The note was designed for students who, unable to take the full-semester course, want a shorter, less-involved process. The goal is to help students develop some modestly rigorous insights into themselves that may help them make career-related decisions. This process will yield a set of life themes that describe a person, a set of implications that describe the kind of work they should be seeking, and a set of questions they can use to guide their efforts in résumé writing, interviewing, and making company visits for recruiting.
