This case describes the experience of five MBA students beginning their two-year residential program. The students are members of a learning team, and each is experiencing challenges orienting to the new program and to her or his teammates.
The goal of this case is to provide one of what will be many opportunities for students to explore their differences and commonalities as people and classmates. It provides context for conversation as a class and in small groups. Students explore how differences create the sometimes challenging and frequently rewarding experiences that are integral to a truly diverse community. The learning objectives of this case are: 1. To foster discussion about how to bridge differences in the business school community 2. To provide a forum for students to share information on cultural and other identity differences 3. To strengthen student relationships and networks
