Product Details
Hiring is one of the most high-stakes decisions a leader can make, especially in entrepreneurial and high-growth environments where every person matters. Yet most hiring decisions are made quickly, intuitively, and without much structure. The RED model introduced in this technical note is designed to change that. RED stands for Role Analysis, Evaluation, and Decision. It offers a streamlined but powerful framework to help leaders slow down, build better hiring systems, and avoid the costly mistake of hiring a great person for the wrong job. At the University of the Virginia Darden School of Business, this technical note is taught in the first- and second-year “Talent Trailblazers” course; it would also be suitable in a module covering Entrepreneurship.
