Leadership Update at Darden Business Publishing

Darden Business Publishing (DBP) announces the retirement of Stephen Momper, who concludes his service as Executive Director on January 15, and the appointment of Jennifer Hasher as Acting Executive Director.

Steve Momper leaves behind a remarkable legacy built over nearly two decades of leadership. Since joining DBP in 2006, Steve guided the organization through a period of sustained growth and transformation that was always grounded in a clear mission: support faculty authors, strengthen the Darden brand, and ensure DBP’s long-term vitality.

Under Steve’s leadership, DBP evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of management education. He championed innovations that streamlined the editorial and publishing process for Darden faculty authors, expanded the storefront experience to make Darden course materials easier for instructors around the world to discover and adopt, and advanced DBP’s digital capabilities to better serve faculty clients and corporate partners. He also played a central role in establishing partnerships that enabled DBP to publish its first books under the Darden Business Books imprint, extending the reach of Darden scholarship beyond the classroom.

Throughout these changes, Steve remained a trusted resource to Darden faculty members and a steady partner to distributors and institutional customers. His thoughtful, understated leadership helped position DBP as a globally respected source of high-quality teaching materials, while building a strong internal team and operational foundation that will support the organization well into the future.

As DBP looks ahead, Jennifer Hasher will serve as Acting Executive Director while the Darden School of Business begins a search for a permanent executive director. Jennifer brings deep experience in academic publishing, operations, and cross-functional leadership. She has worked closely with Darden faculty, editors, and distribution partners to support the development and dissemination of teaching materials, and she understands both the mission-driven and market-facing dimensions of DBP. In her new role, Jennifer will focus on maintaining continuity for authors, instructors, students, and partners, while helping guide DBP through its next phase of strategic planning and innovation.

DBP remains committed to delivering exceptional content, personalized service, and a seamless experience for faculty authors, instructors, students, and distribution partners worldwide. The organization is well positioned to continue evolving in ways that honor its mission while responding to the future of management education.

We extend our sincere thanks to Steve Momper for his leadership and lasting contributions, and we look forward to the continued work ahead under Jennifer Hasher’s stewardship.
